How experienced are your surgeons?
At the Facial Cosmetic Surgery Clinic we think it is essential to employ surgeons who are experienced in this field. Whatever procedure you opt for be secure in the knowledge that it has been carried out by surgeon numerous times before. All our surgeons are very approachable and you may ask them regarding their experience in your initial consultation.
How can I know if surgery is right for me?
Your surgeon’s role is to help you make informed choices regarding the surgery they are able to perform for you. You make the decision regarding whether surgery is the right choice for you. Therefore it is very important for you to carefully consider your basis for undergoing surgery and how well it fits into your plans for improved quality of life.
Do I need to consult my General Practitioner before going ahead with my procedure?
You do not have to consult your GP before undergoing a surgical procedure, but we strongly advise that you do. In addition, the General Medical Council recommends that GPs should be kept informed of all medical treatment their patients undergo.
Is the initial consultation with the surgeon or with an advisor?
The Facial Cosmetic Surgery Clinic will only offer you a consultation with a surgeon.
The advisor’s role is to ensure that the decision you make is an informed one.
How will my procedure be carried out and what are the risks involved?
The Facial Cosmetic Surgery Clinic will provide you with extensive literature regarding your surgery/treatment prior to your first consultation. This will help you to make an informed decision as you will have knowledge of all stages of the procedure.
What will happen when I am at the consultation with the surgeon?
When you arrive at the reception at the Cosmetic Surgery, Manchester you will be requested to complete a short registration form. This is to ensure that the surgeon has all your correct details and is aware of any important medical information before your meeting. You will then be shown into the consultation room where the surgeon will discuss your requirements and reasons for them in detail. This will be followed by the surgeon carrying out an examination of you and offering you advice on what they can do to help meet your requirements.
Can I ask the surgeon questions at the consultation?
You are welcome to ask the surgeon any questions you have already prepared or that crop up during the consultation. At the Facial Cosmetic Surgery Clinic we think that it is very important that you are fully informed about all aspects of the procedure including the recovery time. Although you are welcome to visit the surgeon for another consultation to answer any questions which may arise after the consultation, we recommend writing a list of questions prior to your consultation to ensure you don’t miss out any important questions.
What happens after the consultation?
Following the consultation, we will send you a quote for the surgery you request together with a summary of the consultation and information which will help to answer any questions you raised.
